The damage report can easily be submitted by specialist bike dealers via our portal.

• The specialist dealer can access the online form via the “Damage & theft” menu item. You will be automatically redirected to the Allianz portal. One damage report is possible per contract ID.

• Using this online form, the claim can simply be submitted digitally. Select the type of claim and answer specific questions for a complete report. Use Google Maps to specify the exact location of the claim. No changes can be made during the entry process. If changes are made, the process must be restarted. Upload all required documents. 

• After verification by the insurance company, the specialist dealer will receive approval and confirmation that we will cover the costs. The current processing status is displayed during the process.

• We will reimburse the costs to the specialist retailer directly after receipt of the invoice.

Note: In order to guarantee fast processing of the damage report, it will only be submitted by the specialist bicycle dealer. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Every Lease a Bike company bike receives an obligatory all-round protection package with an individually selected annual wear budget. All necessary repairs to restore operational safety as well as repairs due to wear and tear are charged to this account. The following wear parts, among others, are taken into account.

• Inner tube

• Brake pads

• Brake discs

• Chain

• Cogset / sprocket

• Pinion

• Chainring

• Bottom bracket

• Light sources

• We will review the claim and give the dealer approval that the costs to be covered.

• The reimbursement of the costs to the specialist dealer with settlement via the available budget within the scope of the all-round protection takes place directly after receipt of the invoice.

• A selection/coordination with availability of a bike of the same type and quality can be made between the specialist dealer and the user until approval.

Note on object exchange in the event of theft within the existing contract with a bike of the same type and quality. The new bike must only have the same purchase value, including accessories, as the stolen bike. 

However, the company bike will only be replaced if the all-inclusive option for theft and damage protection has been selected. If the user only has the premium option, the current value insurance will apply and the leasing contract will be terminated in the event of theft and the bike will not be replaced.

Each Lease a Bike all-round protection package consists of three components: theft & damage protection (including a free Europe-wide mobility guarantee), inspection and wear and tear. The user does not have to choose a single package, but instead selects from the various options for theft and damage protection, inspection and wear and tear according to their individual requirements.

Theft & damage protection

Our theft & damage protection covers all sudden and unforeseeable damage or destruction to the company bike, e.g. due to:

• Theft, burglary or robbery

• operating errors

• Simple negligence

• accidental damage

• vandalism

• Design, material or workmanship defects

• Overvoltage, induction or implosion

• Storm, frost, ice, earthquake or flooding

• Damage to the motor or battery

There is no excess! 

For theft and damage protection, the user can choose between current value and replacement value insurance:

• Current value insurance: In the event of theft or total loss, the leasing contract is terminated. The bike only needs to be locked.

• Replacement value insurance: In the event of theft or total loss, the bike will be replaced at its original purchase value including accessories. The bike only needs to be locked.

Inspection

Employees choose one of the three variants Basic, Premium and All-inclusive as an inspection option.

The budget per inspection is:

• Basic: 2 inspections at €85 gross* each 

• Premium: 3 inspections at €85 gross* each 

• All-inclusive: 3 inspections at €115 gross* each 

A maximum of one inspection can be carried out per leasing year.

*Note: The costs of the inspections are capped: The inspection in the basic and premium variants can be billed up to a gross amount of €85.00. The costs in the all-inclusive variant can be billed up to a gross amount of €115.00 each. If the available budget is lower, the inspection will be invoiced up to this amount. Any additional inspection costs are to be borne by the lessee or user.

Wear and tear

Employees select one of the three variants Basic, Premium and All-inclusive as a wear and tear budget option. The wear and tear budget per leasing year is

• Basic: €50 gross 

• Premium: 150€ gross

• All-inclusive: unlimited budget
  

It is not possible to carry over the unused budget to the following leasing year.

Free Europe-wide mobility guarantee including 24/7 breakdown assistance

In the event of a claim, we provide the following services to maintain mobility:

• 24-hour service hotline

• On-site breakdown assistance

• Arrangement of a bicycle repair shop in the vicinity of a breakdown

• Towing*

• Organization of onward or return journey after an accident*

• Replacement bike for max. 7 days at €50*

• Bicycle return transport*

• Arrangement of emergency cash for bicycle tours abroad*

• Assumption of accommodation costs in the event of a breakdown*

The company bike must be locked with, but not connected to, a commercially available brand-name lock, unless it is physically located in an enclosed area. Protection is provided 24/7. Damage/theft reports are to be made directly to us using a form. In the event of theft, a police report is mandatory (File number). Your employer as lessee must also be informed immediately in the event of a claim. You can fill out this notification of claim form on your own or together with your specialist dealer, who will be happy to assist you. For further questions, please contact us.

Please note which theft and damage protection option the user has chosen: If the user has selected the all-inclusive option for theft and damage protection as part of the all-round cover, the new value insurance applies. The Lease a Bike company bike is then insured against theft around the clock if the company bike was locked. It will be replaced at replacement value and an object exchange will be made in the existing contract. As a rule, it is not necessary to terminate the existing contract. 

If the user has selected the premium option for theft and damage protection as part of the all-round cover, the current value insurance comes into effect. The Lease a Bike company bike is then insured against theft around the clock if the company bike was locked. However, the leasing contract is then terminated and the bike is not replaced. 

The statutory warranty is two years. After expiry of this period, damage e.g. to the drive or battery on pedelecs/e-bikes continues to be covered by our all-round cover during the term. Warranty and guarantee claims are always handled directly by the Lease a Bike dealer from whom the company bike was purchased. For further questions, please contact us.
